Christmas Ham Bao Buns with Pickled Cucumber, Carrot & Spicy Mayo Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 x 14 pkt Bao buns
  • 700g leftover Christmas ham, thinly sliced
  • 1½ cups pickled cucumber, sliced
  • 1½ cups pickled carrot
  • ½ cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup coriander leaves, loosely packed
  • Spicy mayo sauce (or your favourite spicy sauce), to serve

Method

  1. Remove the bao buns from the freezer and place onto a large plate. Microwave for 3-4 minutes to defrost, or steam in a bamboo steamer for 4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. Open the bao buns, then evenly divide the sliced ham, pickled cucumber, carrot and red onion between the buns. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with spicy mayo or your favourite sauce.
